The Bois Blanc Island Historical Society, founded in 1983, is dedicated to celebrating and preserving Island information, artifacts, stories and culture. We have a wide variety of exhibits featuring artifacts and images that capture the Island’s colorful past and present, as well as a library with an excellent collection of regional history and children’s
books. During July and August, we offer programs that you won’t want to miss – free
for the whole family!
 

We are closed for the 2026 season, but we will be OPEN July 1 - August 31, 2027 during the following days/times:

Tuesdays: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

​Thursdays: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

​Saturdays: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm 

 

Special open days will be Saturday, May 29 and Saturday, September 6, 2027.
